Full-time $32K-48K (based on experience)    \       Location: Kalihi Office


Job Description:

The Dispatcher will be responsible for taking orders, logging calls, and coordinating drivers' daily work schedules. This position will act as a liaison between our customers and our drivers. The dispatcher will act as a customer service representative providing all current and potentially new customers with information on our products and services, therefore must have excellent communication skills and able to work with other people. The dispatcher will be responsible for resolving any emerging problems that arise and delegating issues requiring important decision making to upper management. The target is to ensure excellent service standards, respond efficiently to customer inquiries and maintain high customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:

  • Manage large amounts of incoming calls
  • Provide customers with information on our products and services
  • Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction
  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication
  • Provide accurate, valid and complete information when preparing daily dispatch (work schedule) for all drivers.
  • Disseminate all work schedules to drivers daily and handle all changes or addons as necessary
  • Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution
  • Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies
  • Take the extra mile to engage customers
  • Organize and review all completed jobs from drivers ensuring all required information is present and accurate for the billing department and payroll
  • Maintain seniority list of drivers attendance and update on a daily basis for HR and payroll
  • Apply for DOT permits and police escorts as needed
  • Keep track and enter all subhaulers on daily dispatch schedule. Follow up with subhauler the next business day for submittal of all tags and scale tickets for billing department
  • Maintain all subhauler files ensuring they are in compliance at all times (Trip leases, insurance coverage, etc.)
  • Follow up with subhaulers for updated information if anything in their file is not up to date or expired



Qualifications:

  • Proven customer support experience or experience as a client service representative
  • Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented as this position heavily relies on details
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Must be able to remain calm as stressful situations arise
  • High school degree or higher
  • 2 years of office work experience or equivalent experience in trucking or construction industry is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
